An intimate evening with Hesperos Choir, accompanied by talented folk musicians, performing classical Christmas songs as well as some of your favourite carols
7:30 PM | St Cyprian’s, Clarence Gate, Marylebone NW1 6AX
On this special evening at St Cyprian’s, Hesperos Choir will be joined by a talented group of folk and early musicians in performing Christmas works by Charpentier, Theile, and Praetorius, exploring how these composers drew inspiration from the folk traditions of their day. The audience will be transported to France, Germany, Scandinavia and beyond, through atmospheric music in a range of languages, before joining the choir in singing some well-loved popular carols together - perhaps grabbing a glass of mulled wine along the way!
Hesperos is an ambitious, London-based chamber choir usually numbering 30-35 singers, jointly directed by Chris Breeze and Charlie Warren. As a choir they aim to maintain a high standard of music-making with a warm and friendly atmosphere. They perform music from the early to the contemporary, and aim to combine well known and loved choral works with music by lesser known composers, and those from under-represented groups. Hesperos also regularly sing at Evensong and other services at cathedrals around the UK, as well as on tour.
Tickets cost £16 per adult, £11 for concessions, and £0.01 for under-16s!
