@sohoplace 9 Jan 2025 to 3 May 2025

Saving the earth is a filthy business…

Kyoto, the ‘truly remarkable’ (WhatsOnStage) new political thriller transfers to London’s West End in 2025. Brought to you by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Good Chance, fresh from a critically acclaimed run in Stratford-upon-Avon, this ‘tense and gripping’ (Guardian) show brings a world of hope to @sohoplace for a strictly limited 16-week season from 9 January 2025.

George Orwell’s Animal Farm

Theatre Royal Stratford East 7 Feb 2025 to 8 Mar 2025

All animals are equal. But some animals are more equal than others…

When a group of exploited animals rebel against their human farmer-tyrant and take control of the land that they live on, they hope to create a world where they can be equal, happier and free. As power shifts and a new leader emerges, they soon face the age-old question: is the grass truly greener on the other side?

The Gift

Park Theatre 22 Jan 2025 to 1 Mar 2025

A comedy about the extraordinary lengths one man is prepared to go to in order to unmask the anonymous sender of a knowingly disgusting present…

When Colin opens up an unexpected mystery package, a cake box from his favourite patisserie, and what’s inside turns out to be very much not a cake, it begins a series of events that take him deep into the murky waters of past transgression and modern-day vengeance.

HEAVEN

Southwark Playhouse Borough 5 Feb 2025 to 22 Feb 2025

Multi-award winning Irish play HEAVEN makes London debut following sellout run at Edinburgh Fringe 2023.

Set in County Offaly in the Irish midlands, HEAVEN sees 20-year married couple, Mairead and Mal, find themselves at something of a crossroads, struggling to keep their relationship together and each with secrets they haven’t told the other. Returning to Mairead’s hometown for a family wedding, they each find themselves facing old temptations, and questions that are difficult to answer.
Poignant, beautiful writing provides a snapshot into the relationship between two adults who have shared a life, a child and all that comes with it - but haven’t yet shared all of themselves. Separated on stage, two intersecting monologues conjure a vivid picture of a weekend where everything comes to the surface.

As Long As We Are Breathing

Arcola Theatre 29 Jan 2025 to 1 Mar 2025

A real-life story about trauma, survival and ultimately healing, As Long As We Are Breathing combines physical theatre and music with audio and video to depict the extraordinary journey of Miriam Freedman who, after surviving the Holocaust, managed to find her way to forgiveness. Born in Bratislava (then Czechoslovakia, now Slovakia), Miriam spent most of her childhood during the Second World War in hiding with her mother, sister, aunts and cousin. Through amazing good fortune and with courageous help they evaded Nazi capture, but her father, brother and another sister did not survive. Weaving together her early years and adulthood, two actresses play younger and older Miriam on her healing path as she discovers yoga, meditation and art therapy which enable her to break through denial to face and process the depths of her loss and grief.
