This one’s a winner - an award winner! PetPyjamas.com, which hosts the PetsPyjamas Travel Awards, gave Homewood Hotel & Spa the awards for ‘Best in Show’ in 2021 and  ‘Best for Pet Perks’ in 2023 !

As the staff say themselves, they’re “dog-mad,” going so far as to greet pups with a specially-desiged Woof Box on check-in, featuring Liliy’s kitchen food and vegan cheesy popcorn, while there are toys, treats and a dog-robe waiting for them in the room. While you can share everything from the Olio Menu in the Homewood’s bars and lounges, there’s even an ever-changing Dog Menu for them to enjoy in the restaurant’s VID (that’s Very Important Dog) section.

Originally built in 1665 under the direction of Charles II as a hostel for visitors to Hampton Court Palace, this place has recently undergone an extensive makeover, and has been transformed into a swish and swanky boutique hotel with a distinctly relaxed and dog-friendly vibe. Every dog gets a bed, bowl, toy and treat, and owners get a pooper scooper for walks in nearby Hamptons Court Palace and Park, Bushy Park and Home Park, with the River Thames right on the doorstep.

The hotel works its boating theme well, and there are nine beautifully decorated dog-friendly rooms on the ground floor with convenient courtyard access. The Boathouse Bar is dog-friendly, as is the super-stylish bar The Coppernose, as well as The Orangery, the 1665 restaurant, plus three terraces overlooking the river.  Every delicious dish is overseen by Ronnie Kimbugwe, who previously worked at Gordon Ramsey and Claridges.
