A spherical glass terrarium is depicted, showing a lush landscape with trees, a sailing ship, and red hearts floating around. The bottom half, submerged in water, reveals tree roots and more floating hearts, creating a dreamlike and romantic scene.

Creation's Summer Season: As You Like It & Treasure Island.

Summer is approaching – which means it is time for some open-air theatre and a sprinkling of Creation magic. We are delighted to announce our 2024 summer season, which includes two productions, playing on the beautiful South lawn at Wycliffe Hall, on the Banbury Road, Oxford.

This summer we bring you As You Like It directed by award-winning Lucy Pitman Wallace. It is such a joyful play and we look forward to welcoming you to our Forest of Arden for some sparkling summer nights. For all the family we have a production of Treasure Island, written and directed by Gari Jones, whose Christmas Carol delighted our audiences six months ago. Swashbuckling pirates and treasure will abound – so come and be part of the adventure.

Both shows features members of our unique rep company, live music (and some swashbuckling fights!). You can book a picnic blanket or seats – and this year we have conceded to the weather, and have rain and shade cover.

So gather your friends, family, colleagues… for the ultimate Oxford (all-weather) summer experience.

Transport yourself back to the 1970s, the era of peace, love, and endless summer nights, in an enchanting outdoor setting, a perfect backdrop for this tale of love and laughter.

Join us for an unforgettable evening as Lucy Pitman-Wallace, the award-winning director of productions for the RSC, Lord Chamberlain's Men, Nottingham Playhouse, and Salisbury Playhouse, brings a fresh twist to Shakespeare’s beloved comedy, As You Like It.

Treasure Island: 23 July - 17 August

This journey of discovery and betrayal is re-imagined in an inventive theatrical adaptation by Gari Jones. Whilst retaining the narrative of Stevenson’s classic, with depth, integrity, a dash of thriller and a large amount of silliness, Gari Jones’ adaptation zips along like a wacky race brimming with pirate speak, off-the-wall characters and a whole heap of original sea shanties. Treasure Island will be performed on the beautiful lawn in front of Wycliffe Hall, within Creation’s summer marquee.
