With brand-new Shakespeare productions this summer promises something for everyone!

Beside the rushing river, beneath the boundless expanse of the open sky, amid the throng of over a thousand people, join us this summer as we once again turn to Shakespeare and Theatre. Not to sanitise or sedate, but to awaken and comfort with the soul and pulse of complex humanity, multiple truths, and new perspectives on old problems, across time, for all time, in the safe embrace of our wooden ‘O’

Much Ado About Nothing: 25 April - 24 August

All is not as it seems in paradise with our new Elizabethan-dress production of Shakespeare’s timeless comedy. Globe Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes directs.

Richard III:  9 May - 3 August

Shakespeare’s account of history’s defining narcissist unfolds in the Globe Theatre, with Artistic Director Michelle Terry in the title role. Elle While directs.

The Taming of the Shrew: 6 June – 26 October

Step inside an absurd carnival this summer as Shakespeare’s vicious comedy arrives in the Globe Theatre, directed by Jude Christian.

Rough Magic: 20 July – 24 August

Join the three Weird Sisters from Macbeth for a silly, spooky adventure of their own in this brand-new family show from the team behind the Olivier Award-nominated, ‘fantastically funny’ ★★★★★ (Broadway World) Midsummer Mechanicals. Directed by Lucy Cuthbertson and Kerry Frampton.

Anthony & Cleopatra:  4 August – 15 September

For the first time in ten years, Shakespeare’s epic story of love, duty, and power unfolds in the Globe Theatre in a ground-breaking bilingual production using Spoken English and British Sign Language. Blanche McIntyre directs Nadia Nadarajah as Cleopatra.

The Comedy of Errors: 21 August – 27 October

Shakespeare’s hilarious tale of long-lost siblings and mistaken identities triumphantly returns to the Globe this summer. Globe Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes and 2023 Globe Resident Associate Director Naeem Hayat co-direct.

Princess Essex: 13 September – 26 October

Discover the incredible true story of the first woman of colour to enter a UK beauty pageant in this fast-paced, music-filled new play by Anne Odeke celebrating unapologetic authenticity. Robin Belfield directs.

Romeo and Juliet: 9 March – 13 April

Experience the most famous story about teenagers ever told in a bold new 90-minute production directed by Director of Education, Lucy Cuthbertson.
