A gravel pathway lined with neatly trimmed grass, blooming white and yellow flowers leads to an ornate wrought iron gate. Behind the gate, there is a red brick building with a glass domed roof, surrounded by trees with fresh spring foliage.

FREE entry to the Kitchen Garden in 2024!

From asparagus and edible flowers to pumpkins and dahlias, and over 200 varieties of fruit, veg, flowers and herbs, the Kitchen Garden is a thriving, productive space and a wonderful place to connect with the seasons.

It is also the engine room of the Trust’s charitable impact, a peaceful haven where our community partners engage with nature, school children learn how food is grown and tended and 50% of the harvest is donated to local food charities.

We want all our visitors to enjoy this beautiful space and the achievements of our green-fingered gardeners, volunteers and community groups. Therefore, in spring 2024 we are opening the Kitchen Garden to the general public. (And to dogs on leads!)

The Kitchen Garden will open on Thursday 28 March, in time for visitors to enjoy a magnificent display of spring flowers. We look forward to seeing you there!
