A unique, horrifying, immersive tour round a repurposed abandoned theme park, Scare City is the ultimate Halloween experience in the North West, with 10 zones, live actors, and non-stop scares.
Set on the site of an abandoned theme park, the eeriness only comes naturally to Scare City. Looking like your worst nightmare come to life, the derelict Camelot hosts a resident cannibal, who himself is hosting his annual dinner adjacent to the Junkyard and the frankly terrifying Reaper’s Reach.
And it gets worse. This year, a new zone named ‘Arakhne’ is making its debut, promising to freak everyone out with a tormenting spider experience, where you’ll see if you’re brave enough to enter the web of the spider queen, further facing fearful clusters of horrifying creatures.
Serial killers dumping grounds, slaughter houses, cults, all kinds of savage bombandagery. With an awareness that it may all get a bit too much, even for the seasoned horror fan, the Resurrection zone marks the halfway point where you’ll be able to load up on snacks, drinks, and maybe shake off some of the dread before going back in and accumulating more.
To many this sounds like unadulterated nightmare fuel. And to many this is exactly what they want for Halloween. God help them.
Scare City is welcoming travellers from the 26th of September through to the middle of November. Just about equidistant from Liverpool and Manchester, it takes about an hour to drive from each. Depending on how involved you choose to get, the tour can last either 45 minutes or 2 hours. Scare City is mostly outdoor, and we know what the weathers like this time of year, so come prepared with waterproofs because the show will go on rain or shine.
Brace yourselves. It wont be an easy ride.
