GoodGym

GoodGym brings fitness and volunteering together in one easily accessible package, with sessions taking place almost daily across London. The main aim of the organisation is to focus volunteer’s energy into activities which benefit their local community whilst having fun, meeting new people and improving their fitness. Each session typically involves running in a group from the meeting point to a community venue, which needs help with a physical task. This could be anything from helping to lift boxes at a food bank, to gardening or painting a community centre. Personal trainers and coaches are on hand to offer free fitness advice and you’ll leave knowing that your workout also had a positive impact on your community. Click here to sign up and see upcoming sessions in your area.

Sweaty Betty fitness classes

Although they’re available to book one day in advance only, click here to find your nearest class and get sweaty, Betty.

Track Mafia

Track Mafia is more of a lifestyle choice than just a running crew. Meeting at Paddington recreational ground every Thursday 6:30- 8:30pm, coach Cory takes the group through warm up, activation drills and timed group running exercises around the 400m track. Warning: this workout is not for the faint hearted, the warm up typically involves a casual 2-mile run, and if you’re not in some kind of discomfort after the drills then you weren’t there. For long distance runners looking to improve their form and pacing technique, here’s the place to meet like minded folk who are always on hand with words of encouragement to help you push past your limits. There’s no need to pre-book, just turn up and join in the #MADNESS.
