Prepare for spectacular spells, a mind-blowing race through time, and an epic battle to stop mysterious forces, all while the future hangs in the balance.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, nineteen years after Harry, Ron, and Hermione saved the wizarding world, they’re back on a most extraordinary new adventure –but this time they are joined by a brave new generation that has only just arrived at the legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

A must for any and all Harry Potter fans this show has Harry's youngest son, the impressively named Albus Severus Potter, trying (and largely failing) to cope with the weight of his family's legacy. Of course he is at Hogwarts, but without giving away any spoilers, things are not quite as easy for Albus as they were for his famous father. Meanwhile, Harry is working flat out as the Minster of Magic and seems to never really have time to listen to those who are trying to be heard.

The show is a phenomenal success, the cast are faultless, the scene changes magical and the special effects are astonishing. It goes without saying that you are going to expect a Harry Potter production to be full of  magic and special effects, but the illusion work and lighting design are sensational and key to the success of the magic translating to a live stage version so well. This is without doubt one well put together West End show that packs a fantastic theatrical punch, it really is out of this world.

Still full of all the familiar characters we love - Harry, Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Myrtle, to name but a few - which helps transport the audience immediately into the wizarding world everyone knows and loves, but the addition of new characters, new plots and a whole new generation of Hogwarts is fabulously done, and made it new , exciting and so fresh. A truly magical show with so many stand out moments especially watching the relationship develop between Harry and Albus and of course all the impressive magic and special effects which leave you wondering if maybe the actors really are wizards.

Bringing the magic back to London's West End, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child can currently be seen at London's Palace Theatre.
