Fortune Theatre was built between 1922 to 1924 and was the first theatre to be built in London after the First World War. This Grade II listed building has a seating capacity of 432 providing guests with some of the best seats in theatre, the stage brings the West End up close.
Since the war the Fortune has seen many stars tread the boards, from Dame Judi Dench to Alan Bennett and beyond! It has hosted an eclectic mix of shows, plays, musicals, dance and comedy and for 33 years it was home to the enigmatic and brilliant production of The Woman in Black.
Described as ‘the most intimate of theatres’, Fortune Theatre hosted performances by ENSA during World War II, and so it is a delight for it to now be home to Operation Mincemeat as they follow the twisted secret mission that won the war! Tickets are available to book from the online box office.
The theatre is currently owned by the Ambassador Theatre Group who offer a range of services to make events and venues as accessible as possible.
