Housed in a Grade II listed building with a history spanning over 500 years, it was once the place where Arthur Liberty mixed his famed fabric dyes in the early 1900s. With a cozy 70-seat studio, the Colour House Theatre has become a beloved venue for a variety of performances. From lively theatre shows and spirited music gigs to side-splitting comedy nights, this venue offers something for everyone. However, it's perhaps best known for its enchanting weekend Children’s Theatre, which has entertained over 150,000 little ones with original musical adaptations of beloved fairy tales like "Cinderella," "Robin Hood," and "The Wizard of Oz." The hour-long performances, running every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm and 4pm, delight audiences aged 3 to 103.
Not just for children’s entertainment, the Colour House Theatre has a well-established monthly Blues Club. Founded over two decades ago by Fleetwood Mac's original bassist, Bob Brunning, and now run by respected blues musician Robin Bibi, this club continues to draw music lovers with its soulful sounds. The venue also hosts monthly chamber concerts, comedy gigs, and a range of other performances, making it a cultural hotspot in South West London.
The Colour House Theatre’s rich history and dynamic programming make it a must-see attraction. Whether you're catching a fairy tale with the kids, enjoying a blues night, or laughing along at a comedy show, this theatre offers an intimate and unforgettable experience.
