Shrimp! Boil! IRL! You heard it right. Decatur, the meal kit kings known for their lifesaving shrimp boils during lockdown, have found a permanent home (but theyre still operatin as street food too so it counts!). Founder Tom Browne, inspired by the real American South, set out to change the game of Southern food in the UK when he returned from the USA in 2013. With a commitment to break free from the tired staples and infuse some Southern hospitality into London's culinary scene, Decatur was born.
While they're still on the hunt for their forever home, you can catch them popping up all over London and the UK, including their production kitchen in East London. What's on the menu? A moving feast of Louisiana and Cajun dishes, and their acclaimed meal kits and spice blends. The celebration is set to be a low-key but flavorful affair, featuring Southern delights like duck and Andouille sausage gumbo, veggie and fried chicken biscuits, and locally brewed beers.
