A thought-provoking and joyful queer reclamation of myths and legends.

Bet'n Lev Theatre are delighted to announce their ‘joyful, evocation of queer mythology’ Remythed will be heading on a regional tour this summer from 2 May - 11 July 2025,  calling at Kings Head Theatre in London on 9 May 2025.

This uplifting, joyous, and thought-provoking show tells five stories, with five actors, playing more than 30 characters between them. Myths and legends are rediscovered, reshaped, and reformed via the personal history of the performers. From Sheherazade to Anansi, via Lady Godiva, figures from legendary stories appear anew - Queer stories have been erased from our most-known tales for far too long, and now, LGBTQIA+ collective myths return to their rightful place in our hearts and minds. Remythed joyfully allows audiences to reimagine what queer history can look like.

Bet'n Lev Theatre is a proud home for global queer storytelling. Remythed premiered at VAULT Festival 2023, winning ‘Show of the Week’. It toured in 2024, achieving sell-out shows for the run at Clapham Omnibus as well as having an acclaimed two-week run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The show heads to Shakespeare North in Prescot, Kings Heads Theatre in London, Ustinov Studio at Theatre Royal Bath, Live Theatre in Newcastle, Tobacco Factory Theatre in Bristol and Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham.

Remythed features and was developed by Joel and Roann with Ishmael Kirby (Moll and the Future Kings, Bridges Y Puentes, Grills), Lucy Roslyn (Orlando, Pennyroyal) and Emile Clarke (Crimes on Centre Court, The Little Mermaid, Scarlet Pimpernel).
