With a great start to January read on and discover what’s next for MIO.

Music in Offices has well and truly beat the January blues with singing! On Blue Monday, 20 January, MIO welcomed 30 people for an uplifting lunchtime sing to NLA - The London Centre, a new venue for a MIO singing activity! Caitlin Downie, MIO Choir Conductor at SEI, Ashurst, Wedlake Bell & Channel 4 warmed up the group singing about bananas and ‘sushi at the Shard’! Then expertly led them through Life’s a Happy Song, You’ve Got a Friend and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. Wonderful!

For the January monthly MIO Culture Club, a group visited the Royal Academy of Music to see a performance by Hannah Runting. The experience was an audible art gallery, presenting a selection of Yoko Ono’s emotive text scores, realised in sounds and performed by four soloists exploring the nuances of musical communication.

For the February Culture Club, MIO will be asking the question,  What makes music ‘chamber’ music?  If the question is intriguing, join them on Friday 14 February from 12.30-1.15pm. What better way to spend Valentines lunch than sharing a love of music and culture! Enjoy a short lunchtime concert at St Bartholomew The Great, EC1A 9DS, hosted by the London Symphony Orchestra. With friendly introductions from presenter Rachel Leach, we’ll be guided through the pieces and have a chance to ask any burning questions!
