Peckham's old abandoned multi-story carpark becomes a festival for funk and soul this New Years, with two live bands and many more DJ's to bring you the heat going into 2025.
There are few better ways to spend New Years. Peckham Levels, in keeping with a yearly tradition, hosts the magnificent, multi-layered South London Soul Train, an all-night celebration of all things funky, souly, and jazzy. With three rooms on three different floors, part of the fun of Peckham Levels is simply running around like a kid in an IKEA, finding new musical delights as you go.
But of course the main chamber of enjoyment comes from the live bands. Some complain that the nightlife scene - especially the offerings around NYE - are DJ-heavy, too electronic. Jazzheadchronic are here to put your complaints in the bin. They never miss an opportunity to shell out, always going unnecessarily hard in their covers and reinterpretations of the Soul Train classics. Together we salute them.
With them, we have Stone Cold Hustle coming with a live performance taking us into the new year in the main room. Promising nothing but the most ass-shaking funk they can hope to muster, we are very much in for a treat.
Rooms 2 and 3 come with a mix of star DJ's playing the expected hits. Parliament, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Ohio Players, Kool & the Gang, you know the vibes. You dig? Time to tear the roof off the sucka!
