A full programme of events for child and adult visitors to the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Admission charges apply to planetarium shows, Flamsteed House and Meridian Courtyard, courses, and some events.

Highlights this month include:

  • Explore topics in ancient and modern Chinese astronomy, including the Sun, Moon, stars and space exploration.
  • Visit the Observatory as a family on weekends to watch a variety of planetarium shows for all ages.

Silver Screen Science Fiction: 26 October 2024, 18.00 – 20.30

Enjoy a screening of a vintage, cult, or blockbuster sci-fi movie at the Peter Harrison Planetarium, followed by a short talk on the science behind the fiction by a Royal Observatory astronomer. Admission: Adult £10 | Child £5.

PLANETARIUM SHOWS - Peter Harrison Planetarium

Morning Stars:  28 October 2024, 10.15 – 11.00

A planetarium show designed for anyone who would benefit from a calmer and more relaxed environment. Admission: £10 Adult | £5 Child. 

Out of this World: Mars:  29 October 2024, 10.30 – 12.00

The Red Planet awaits as we explore where only robots have gone before! Admission: £5 per Child.

Holiday to Space: Halloween: 31 October 2024, 10.30 – 12.00

A morning of spooky fun including a planetarium show and interactive workshop. Admission: £5 per Child.

Chinese Astronomy  19 October 2024 10.30 – 11.15

Live planetarium show to explore topics in ancient and modern Chinese astronomy, including the Sun, Moon, stars and space exploration, guided through by an astronomer of the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Admission: Adult £10 | Child £5.

We Are Guardians Daily

A look at how ecosystems are intrinsically connected and with the increasing use of Satellite Monitoring, examines the links between human activities and climate change. Admission:  Adult £12 | Student £8 | Child £6.

Earth from Space: Daily: 10.00 – 17.00 NEW

Take a closer look at our world through the satellite’s lens, opening up a perspective that only a handful of humans have experienced themselves. Explore satellites’ vital role in tackling climate change, and see a truly unique, living planet: our home in space. Admission: Free.
