Strawberry Hill House & Garden’s Flower Festival 2025.
In September, the UK’s most sustainable flower festival returns to Strawberry Hill House & Garden for The Faery Tale Castle, an exceptional showcase of botanical creativity from the country’s most pioneering and inspiring floral artists.
Now in its 7th year, more than 30 floral designers and farmers will create eye-catching and challenging displays using homegrown British flowers that will fill the gothic castle with “faery tale” inspired works from Friday 12 – Sunday 14 September. Guest curated by Gaia Elkington of Gaia Eros Florals, alongside Leigh Chappell of Leigh Chappell Flowers, the expansive palatial interiors of Strawberry Hill House will transform into an enchanted faery-land of folklore and flowers for one weekend only – and everyone is invited to this Floral Ball.
Visitors will find magic in every nook and cranny of the house as the floral artists let their imagination and creativity conjure up captivating sights and dreamlike displays. Amongst the spellbound staircases and grand rooms expect to find spinning wheels, a witch’s perfumery, floral flying carpets, a goblin market and botanical sprites in this unmissable adventure through faery-land, where even a giant garden spider will be lurking!
The festival is committed to sustainable practices, celebrating the wild and imperfect natural world, and therefore free from floral foam and single use plastics. Every designer will use traditional methods to create their faery world so at the end of the festival everything can be reused and safely composted back in the garden, and all flowers used will be homegrown in the British Isles. A programme of events will accompany the festival allowing visitors a special insight into the beautiful displays as well as tips and tricks on how to make their own faery-like arrangements.
There will be two opportunities to tour the displays late in the night, with a talk and tour on Friday and a candlelit tour on Saturday (both accompanied with a glass of champagne). There will also be demonstrations on hand-tied bouquets by Leigh Chappell using homegrown seasonal flowers, award-winning florist Sophie Powell showing visitors how to make floral avant-garde flower crowns, and a dried flowers workshop with Layla Robinson.
