Highlights this month include:
- Learn about astronomical imagery in art history during an after-hours talk at the Observatory.
- Watch a livestream co-hosted by the New Cresent Society to mark the beginning of Ramadan.
- Visit the Planetarium during the half-term break for additional shows suitable for all ages.

Join the astronomers of the Royal Observatory Greenwich and members of the New Crescent Society for a special livestream as they attempt to sight the New Crescent Moon, marking the beginning of Ramadan.

Highlights include:
Chinese Astronomy: Lunar New Year Special: 1 Feb 2025: 10.30 – 11.15
A special Lunar New Year edition of the regular Chinese Astronomy show. Visitors will learn how ancient Chinese astronomers used observations of the Sun, Moon, planets and the stars to tell time, how it’s reflected in the traditional Chinese calendar and stories associated with the Lunar New Year.

Astronomy and Islam: 23 February 2025 - 10:30 – 11:15
Held before the predicted sighting of the next New Crescent Moon, attendees will discover how the Sun’s position relates to the times and directions of Islamic prayer.

Meet the Neighbours: Weekends and school holidays
Meet Earth’s next-door neighbours in space in this entertaining, interactive show where the audience vote on which planets to explore in depth, before moving beyond to explore neighbouring stars and galaxies far away in the depths of space.
