Join Robin Hood and his Merry Band for a spectacular festive heist Christmas!

Rose Theatre has released new rehearsal images for the upcoming festive adaptation of Robin Hood & The Christmas Heist alongside the full cast and creative team. This new production puts a new twist on the legendary characters who take from the rich and give to the poor in a comedic and music-filled original story by Olivier Award-winning writer Chris Bush, Pitch Perfect Award-winning composer Matt Winkworth, and UK Theatre Award-winning director Elin Schofield.

The production marks the 10th Anniversary of the Rose’s collaboration with the Rose Youth Theatre, marking what’s become a celebrated holiday tradition in Kingston upon Thames where young people rehearse and perform alongside professional adult actors. The production begins previews on Saturday 30 November and runs through the festive season until Sunday 5 January 2025.

The creative team includes Chris Bush (Writer), Matt Winkworth (Music, Orchestrations and Musical Direction), Elin Scofield (Director), Anisha Fields (Set & Costume Designer), Jai Morjaria (Lighting Designer), Annie May Fletcher (Sound Designer), Olivia Shouler (Choreographer & Movement Director), Alex Pritchett (Associate Director), Josh Mathieson (Voice & Dialect Coach), Christopher Worrall CDG (Casting Director), Matthew Forbes (Puppetry Director), and Oli Whitworth (Additional Orchestrations).

Adult cast members include Matthew Ganley (Robin Hood)Emma Manton (Marian), Andrew Whitehead (Sheriff of Nottingham), and Jodie Cuaresma (Much). The cast are also joined by 40 young people from local communities.

As winter's first snow falls, there’s little Christmas cheer in Sherwood. Cupboards are bare, the nights are cold, and the cruel Sheriff of Nottingham squeezes his citizens for every penny they’re worth. But deep in the forest, in the heart of the Major Oak, legendary outlaw Robin Hood plots an audacious scheme to bring some festive joy to all.

Can Robin succeed? Will the Sheriff be defeated? Will the children of Sherwood have anything to celebrate come Christmas Day? Find out when we bring a new chapter of Robin’s adventures to our stage.
