Electrifying 18-piece big-band party like no other!
Following triumphant recent performances at WOMAD Festival and New Morning in Paris, the 18-Piece Afro-Cuban jazz ensemble New Regency Orchestra take their high-impact, dancefloor-inspired sound on the road this spring with dates in Cambridge (26 April), Manchester (3 May) and London (1 May) as part of La Linea festival’s 25th anniversary celebrations
With its powerful 12-piece horn section, a razor-sharp 5-piece rhythm section and dynamic dancers, the group is infusing the golden age of mambo and Latin jazz with electrifying energy and bold new arrangements. Channelling the spirit of 1950s New York, where jazz icons like Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker intersected with Cuban legends Chano Pozo and Machito, New Regency Orchestra adds a fresh, contemporary London edge to this rich tradition. Powered by some of the capital’s finest Latin and jazz talent, the group is pushing boundaries and delivering a sound that is redefining the genre. Prepare for an evening guaranteed to keep our dancefloor alight!
