Miss-I-Doll

18 February 2025 to 9 March 2025 The Other Palace

The world premiere of musical comedy Miss-I-Doll brings a dose of reality to The Other Palace.

What would happen if during a live reality TV show final one of the contestants simply revealed…the truth?

The highly anticipated Miss-I-Doll will be staged at The Other Palace Studio, an explosive one woman musical comedy telling a modern tale of capitalism gone wrong. Following the story of Mia, a seemingly perfect reality TV show contestant, Miss-I-Doll takes audiences on a gripping journey as the TV show spirals into an explosion of vibrant passion, ruthlessness and outrageous satire.

Reality TV gets a hefty dose of reality in this rip-roaring comedy when an unfiltered Mia unapologetically speaks her mind on the true nature of the show’s feminine stereotypes, capitalist agenda, green washing, unethical marketing and pink washing. Promising audiences a night brimming with joy and laughter, Mia loses control as her world and reality are disrupted, turning the whole competition upside down.

Co-written by Tobia Rossi and Oliver Lidert Miss-I-Doll confronts a world entrenched with rigid gender roles and class distinctions. Derived from Ilaria Fioravanti’s original idea, Miss-I-Doll has been developed into an electric new British musical that will challenge these societal norms and capitalist motives.

West End performer Daisy Steere (Dirty Dancing, UK Tour; JERSEY BOYS, UK and Ireland Tour; JACKIE THE MUSICAL, UK Tour) will play the seemingly perfect reality TV show contestant Mia. Steere’s central role also offers a powerful multi-rolling performance as she takes on twelve other characters in the reality TV show. Natalie Casey (Legally Blonde, Savoy Theatre; Rock / Paper / Scissors, Sheffield Crucible; In The Next Room, The Other Palace) brings her TV background to the musical comedy, as she personifies the reality show as a voiceover, guiding Mia and the audience through the production. This modern tale of capitalism gone wrong, staged for a limited three-week run, is an entertaining, satirical statement of resilience, showing how women can be valued for who they truly are.

Directed by the formidable Ruthie Stephens, Miss-I-Doll strives to spark conversation and challenge perceptions, providing a shared experience that will resonate with audiences on personal and social levels. Bringing his world-class expertise in music to this production, the incredible score for the show has been composed by Simone Manfredini (The Lion King, Lyceum Theatre; Les Misérables, Sondheim Theatre; 9 to 5, UK Tour).
