A sensational double bill promising to be the highlight of the 2025 London Handel Festival.
The Handel Opera Studio presents a double bill of Handel's Apollo e Dafne HWV 122 and The Choice of Hercules HWV 69 for a spectacular operatic performance in collaboration with La Nuova Musica and New English Ballet Theatre.
It is almost 50 years since the Festival was founded by Denys Darlow and now, more than ever, we remain dedicated to celebrating the musical legacy of this great composer through world-class performances and events.
Set in the grandeur of Shoreditch Town Hall, Tales of Apollo and Hercules Tales of Apollo and Hercules will explore the lives of two tragic and divine half-brothers and recount their quest for love, their battles with choice and anguish, and their acceptance of fate.
Much-acclaimed director Thomas Guthrie joins rising-star choreographer Valentino Zucchetti to create a spellbinding evening of mythical and fantastical storytelling through drama and dance. LHF favourites La Nuova Musica, and their conductor David Bates, join a cast of acclaimed soloists for this original Handel production including Dan D'Souza (Apollo), Lauren Lodge-Campbell (Dafne), James Hall (Hercules), Samantha Clarke (Pleasure) and Bethany Horak-Hallett (Virtue).
Tales of Apollo and Hercules promises to be one of the most original Handel events of 2025 and is expected to sell out, so tickets should be booked early. Performances will take place in the grandeur of Shoreditch Town Hall from 27 - 29 March.
