Live Music on a Bus - at Ludo’s

20 March 2025 Ludo's

Does what it says on the tin: come see live music, on a bus!

Ever wanted to see live music on a bus? Well, Ludo's aptly titled event, Live Music on a Bus, will have you see just that.

As venues get ever more squeezed from the cost of living crisis, inflation, and whatever next sorrow slouches ‘round the corner, it only makes sense to start preparing our music venues to be fitted into any old or discontinued space possible. We have seen a rise in people kitting out vans and shipping containers to keep rents down in London, so why not venues? (I’m still waiting on London's first venue in a gentrified shipping container).

At the time of writing, I am unsure whether or not the bus moves. The event description says “hop on board at 7pm” and stresses the importance of getting there on time, indicating a departure, however, the way they have kitted out the drivers cabin says otherwise (how could you remain focused with all those fairy lights?). The tyres look relatively pumped up, but the pub tables chained outside tell another story. Probably for the best if its stationary; all it takes is one abrupt break or one tight corner for someones Margarita to be emptied over a £320 guitar pedal, and all hell will break lose.

A line-up of all small, independent musicians - Arliston, Max White, Oliver Pinder & Tabi Gervis - gives you an opportunity to see some of the city's underrated talent before they get popular; at Culture Calling, we always try to keep our fingers on the many pulses, and we have before anticipated the rise of artists who, when we got to them, were just starting out, including Nia Archives, Cody Currie, and Ezra Collective. We hope to continue our streak with Ludo's Live Music on a Bus.
