Highlights this month include:

Celebrate LGBTQ+ month on the ship with family crafting workshops.

Hear traditional sea shanties performed by Cutty Sark’s resident sea shanty singers.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

Out at Sea15: 23 February 2025: 11.00 – 16.00

A family festival celebrating queer maritime history through the ages. This year the festival will be extended across the week and taking place at multiple Royal Museums Greenwich sites. See live performances, storytelling and take part in creative workshops for all ages. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a line-up of queer historians, artists and performers as we celebrate LGBTQ+ history, identities and communities. There will be crafting workshops taking place at the ship, exploring love tokens and sailor craft.

Sea Shanty Singers: 1, 2 February 2025: 11.45 | 12.45 | 13.30

Cutty Sark’s resident sea shanty groups Swinging the Lead and The HogEye Men transform the famous tea clipper's 'Tween Deck with the harmonies of sea shanties, traditional working songs. Come along to hear this enduring maritime tradition brought to life.

Ship Mates: Wednesdays during term-time

A weekly adventure for little sailors to explore the playful learning environment inside Cutty Sark, allowing families to come together and share experiences. Facilitators will focus on essential skills such as problem solving and working together.

Character Encounters: Weekends during term-time

Come aboard to hear Cutty Sark's incredible stories brought to life by characters from the ship’s past. Meet Captain Woodget, the ship’s most daring master, Jock Willis, the man who built Cutty Sark, Nannie, the ship’s figurehead, James Robson, the ship’s cook, or our new dockworker characters, who all have special stories to tell.

Ship Keeper’s Kit: Weekdays

Pick up a kit from the admissions desk on arrival and use the tools inside to learn all about how our ship keeping team conserves Cutty Sark.
