Summer 2024 Creative Programme!
Whether you’re a frequent local visitor, someone looking for fun things to do with your family, a keen gardener, a local community group, an entertainment lover or a history buff, there’s something for everyone at Chiswick House and Gardens this summer.
Chiswick House and Gardens 2024 Creative Programme, generously funded by Arts Council England, centres around two new food-themed art projects. For Harvesting Connection: A Communal Table, (launching Friday 16 August), London-based artist Ayesha Weekes is designing a communal long table for the Kitchen Garden made from reclaimed materials, including fallen holly and sycamore logs from the Chiswick House woodlands and decorated with handcrafted ceramics. The table will sit inside the 17th century walled garden surrounded by the fruit, grains, flowers and vegetables cultivated by CHGT’s dedicated gardeners and volunteers and will be available to visit every Thursday to Sunday until 27 October, 10.30am to 3.30pm.
For Flower Feast, (Thursday to Sunday,10.30am to 3.30pm) local artist Jaixia Blue has created a sensory Kitchen Garden trail, designed to get visitors exploring the different kinds of life in the garden, learning about the importance of pollinators and engaging with the exciting sounds, smells and textures around them.
