The Crown - Victoria Park

Self-described as a 'cool and edgy spot', perched at the end of Bow Road in London's historic East End, The Crown attracts for its scenic views over the grand Victoria Park, with its two-floors and balconies that provide a scenic backdrop to your pub visit.

And despite its more-than-ideal location, it hasn't fallen victim to the same 'regeneration' as other hot pubs in hot areas have done. Indeed, if it didn't have such a classic East End feel to it, you'd be forgiven for forgetting you're in the city.

They offer a brunch menu but, as they stick to the traditional British classics, this includes a classic fry-up, pork sausage, English muffin, and Cyder battered fish and chips. A far cry from the city's new favourite brunch of choice - the bottomless variety - but a welcome cry, harkening back to the old days.

Their offerings for Sunday roast are: 28 day aged Angus rump of beef with horseradish cream; roast pork belly, apple sauce, pork and apple stuffing; lemon & thyme roast chicken; and mushroom, courgette, lentil and vegan feta wellington. All are served with seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes, veggie gravy, and Yorkshire pudding.

An unpretentious, traditionally-minded spot, The Crown has been the favourite of locals for many a year, and will be for many a year more.
