This park is a green gem cleverly built to follow the Regent’s Canal through its very industrial East London setting. If you look for it, you will see that there is wildlife everywhere - birds, bees, butterflies, and over 400 species of beetle! The Mile End Park Rangers and conservationists use the Ecology Park to study nature in the heart of London. The park’s massive complex of lakes are home to waterbirds and amphibians, plus plenty of dragonflies and damselflies.
There is plenty to keep you active and occupied for free, including two play areas, an outdoor gym and a skate park. However, via Mile End Park you can also access the Mile End Climbing Wall and the Urban Adventure Base - this is where the Outdoor Education Team mentor young people to complete activities for their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and you can get involved in a range of activities from indoor skating archery to canoeing and mountain biking.
Within Mile End Park you will also find the Mile End Leisure Centre and Stadium, as well as spaces for hire like the Arts Pavilion and Ecology Pavilion - click here for more details from the website for Tower Hamlets Borough Council.
