Summer family fun at the Roman Baths and Victoria Art Gallery!

Enjoy the summer holidays filled with art, craft and history and where younger visitors can take part in lots of hands-on activities. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The drop-in sessions run from 10am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 4pm.

  • Scribbling Scribes: Wednesday 24 July – Friday 26 July
    Learn a little Latin and make a door plate.
  • Super Scrolls: Monday 29 July – Friday 2 August
    Make a scroll – that’s a type of book the Romans used!
  • It’s All Yours: Monday 5 – Friday 9 August
    Make a mosaic book plate for your favourite book.
  • Ex Libris: Monday 12 – Friday 16 August
    Don’t lose your place in your next book – make a Roman bookmark.
  • Caesar’s Secrets: Monday 19 – Friday 23 August
    Julius Caesar sent messages using a code. Find out how it worked, decode a message and send a message to a friend.
  • Scribbling Scribes: Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 August
    Learn a little Latin and make a door plate.

Victoria Art Gallery

Come along to free craft sessions based on the fabulous Toulouse-Lautrec and the Masters of Montmartre exhibition. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The drop-in sessions run from 10.30am – 2pm. The activities are free, but the exhibition is ticketed.

  • Lautrec and Friends: Wednesday 24 – Friday 26 July
    Decorate and design outfits for some characters from our special exhibition – dancers, singers and theatregoers.
  • Cat on a Hot Tin Roof: Tuesday 30 July – Friday 2 August
    Use Plasticine to make a cool cat for our rooftop Parisian scene.
  • Windmill from the Moulin Rouge: Tuesday 6 – Friday 9 August
    Make and decorate a 3D windmill inspired by the Moulin Rouge.
  • Top Hats, Monocles and Moustachios: Tuesday 13 – Friday 16 August
    Make an outfit and dress up like the artist Toulouse-Lautrec.
  • Feathery Fun: Tuesday 20 – Friday 23 August
    Make a fancy and colourful headdress fit for a singer at the Moulin Rouge.

Admission to the Roman Baths and Victoria Art Gallery exhibitions is free for residents of Bath and North East Somerset with a Discovery Card.
