Folly Farm Nature Reserve

Folly Farm is a stunning nature reserve managed by the Avon Wildlife Trust in Somerset, just 10 miles from Bristol and Bath. Free to visit, Folly Farm offers gorgeous views of the Mendip Hills, plus Chew Valley and Chew Valley Lake. Guests can explore miles of footpaths,  ancient woodlands where native bluebells grow, and the rare wildflower meadows whose flowers burst into colour in summer.

Winning numerous awards for sustainable tourism, Folly Farm Nature Reserve prides itself on its sustainability credentials and its mantra ‘recycle, reuse and repair’; The Folly Farm Centre is housed in a set of carefully-restored old farm buildings and, wherever it can, uses sustainable and eco-friendly materials and techniques including solar energy, biomass heating and even a reed bed sewage system and harvested rooftop rainwater. It also sources all of its food locally, buying milk, eggs, meat and cheese from nearby farms with fresh vegetables coming directly from their kitchen garden.

As well as hosting various educational programs, Folly Farm is a popular destination for conferences, weddings and group stays (with enough room to accommodate up to 50 people). It’s the perfect place to leave city stresses behind and lose yourself in the beauty of nature.

Folly Farm Nature Reserve is open to everyone at all times.
