A Mariachi Christmas - St. Peters Square

5 December 2024 York Place

Get into the Christmas spirit the alternative way, by getting up on your feet for an all-female Mariachi band at the Brighton winter fayre's opening night.

Comprised of members from across the world, including Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Italy and the UK, this trail-blazing octet formed in 2013 as an opposition to the male-dominated world of Mariachi. They have since played all over the country, including Glastonbury, WOMAD, and the Roundhouse, among many others.

The group has three lead vocalists and are all professional instrumentalists playing traditional mariachi acoustic instruments. Mariachi Las Adelitas join us on the opening night of Brighton Winter Fayre, promising a repertoire of mariachi classics alongside original compositions and beautiful arrangements of classics and Christmas hits.

Three lead vocalists, all performing traditional mariachi acoustic instruments, come join Mariachi Las Adelitas for the opening night of Brighton Winter Fayre, promising a tracklist of mariachi and Christmas arrangements, marvelling at their natural synthesis. It may be unconventional for the English who associate this time with choirs and bells, but trust me, after a margarita or two, every essence of Ebenezer will leave your body.
